The School Garden

Growing Not Just Food,
But Knowledge Too.

In October 2022, the preschool director, Kofi, launched a wonderful project – the creation of a small farm. It all began with a dream: to have a place where we could grow our own vegetables and support the nutrition program for our children. Today, that dream has not only come true but continues to grow and bear fruit – both literally and figuratively!

Our garden is now an inseparable part of preschool life – it teaches, nourishes, and brings joy. And although its beginnings were humble, it grows stronger with each passing day – just like the children who care for it. In the garden, we grow tomatoes, okra, eggplants, and also cassava.
But the Kofi School Project is a unique educational tool. Children learn where vegetables and fruits truly come from – not from the market, but from the soil, the sun, the water, and the work of their own hands.

The children take great joy in caring for the garden. Each of them has their own watering can and regularly waters the plants, learning how to nurture them and what is needed for healthy growth. This is not only practical support for the nutrition program but also an excellent life lesson—showing how important hard work, care for nature, and patience truly are.
